The Adeona Foundation is a 501(c)3 charity that was founded in May 2008 by five friends living and working in New York City who wanted to make a profound impact on the community.
The Adeona Foundation aims to follow the example set forth by its namesake, Abeona, the Roman goddess who protected children as they left their home and ventured out into the world. Her counterpart, Adiona, was the goddess of safe return. Today, it is said these two deities are embodied as a single goddess: Adeona.
Our foundation hopes to make a difference in the lives of socially, physically, mentally and economically disadvantaged children in New York City. The foundation is devoted to raising awareness and funds for inspiring community based charities who benefit the youth of New York City. Being the fast paced place that New York is, many small but deserving charities seem to fly under the radar. The Adeona Foundation aims to bridge the gap between underexposed charities and our dedicated support base of young professionals. Our foundation hopes to achieve this goal by raising money through donations and fundraisers, and donating the proceeds to deserving children's causes consistent with The Foundation's objectives.
We credit much of our success to the generosity of our event sponsors, and fellow committee members who have helped build our network of young professionals. Additionally, Officers and Directors are not compensated for their work with The Adeona Foundation.
