On Saturday December 12th, the Adeona Foundation sponsored a holiday party and gift exchange for over 80 kids from The Children’s Aid Society Dunlevy Milbank Center. The Children’s Aid Society Dunlevy Milbank Center, is a community center which offers a wide variety of programs and services for children in Harlem. With the support of The Children’s Aid Society Dunlevy Milbank Center, we were able to provide each child with a personalized gift from their holiday wish list.
Prior to the holiday party and gift exchange, the Adeona Foundation sponsored an ice skating party for the children and volunteers at the Trump Wollman Rink in Central Park. After ice skating for a few hours, the children and the Adeona Foundation’s volunteers took the subway to the Dunlevy Milbank Center where they later enjoyed a catered lunch and great conversation. After lunch, Santa Claus arrived at the center to give each kid one of the gifts he or she submitted to him on their wish list. The look on their faces when they saw Santa Claus was priceless.
The Adeona Foundation is grateful to have had the opportunity to be apart of a project that not only provided a fun holiday experience for inner city children through ice skating and toy distribution, but to show them that there are individuals in this world who care about their future.
