The Cooke Center for Learning & Development

In the fall of 2008, The Adeona Foundation hosted its inaugural event.  Held at the Johnny Utah’s in Rockefeller Center, Cowboys and Indians was a tremendous success selling out more than 500 tickets.  The strong show of support for the Adeona Foundation's mission also generated great results.

The recipient of the foundation’s first fundraiser was The Cooke Center for Learning and Development in New York City. Cooke was founded in 1987 the parents of seven developmentally disabled children in New York City who wanted to find the best possible education for their children. Cooke has grown from serving seven children in one classroom to become the largest private, inclusive educational organization for children with special needs in New York City.

On November 21, 2008 Adeona co-founders presented Dr. Michael Termini, PsyD, the president of Cooke with a donation in the amount of $10,000 to further the mission of providing needs blind education to developmentally disabled children in New York City.
